| Dec. 29th, 2004 06:34 pm Managers' Journal, Dec. 29 It's been several months since the... disaster. Thank heavens the opera is back to normal- mostly.
G.A. has taken a personal leave, for which I am very grateful. His nerves were completely shot, poor man. I do hope that Greece's healing waters will agree with him, and that he may soon return.
On the otherhand, the Opera runs much more... profitably without Giles running about, flirting with divas and promising bonuses. The man just does not understand the value of a franc! Without his meddling, we are finally running in the black. Of course, it helps that O.G has disappeared. Without his "salary", we have saved 20k Francs a month! I pray that he never returns.
Nobody really knows what happened that night... Little M.G. refused to talk about what she found in the cellars, and C.D. is silent as the grave. Frankly, I don't really care, as long as the business runs smoothly.
These Christmas bonuses will be the death of me! Carlotta can't have more than C.D., but one can't give C.D. less than her due, since she still seems to be with Le Patron, R.d.C. Little M.G. has progressed by jeters, as her mother forcefully reminded me. Plus there are all those chorus girls, some of which are getting quite good. And the stagehand, and the hairdressers, and on and on. 50k should about cover it, I think.
And the New Year's Ball to plan! That was always Giles' speciality... I'm no good with these social things. Current Mood: calm Current Music: Scratching of my quill
